Network Engineer (Cisco / Checkpoint)

 Description 'You won't be siloed as an engineer in the network operations group. The Network Operations Group supports all of FICO's network infrastructure, utilizing the newest technology and managing a new state-of-the-art data center.

•Responsible for implementing and managing all FICO network equipment in-line with FICO published standards. This may involve working closely with the different FICO business units, networking vendors and other FICO technology groups.
•Ensure that all the FICO network infrastructure policies are implemented and policed.
•Provide technical support for all complex networking problems, and requests for service, related to the FICO network infrastructure, to ensure maximum network availability and customer satisfaction.
•Ensure that all data collected on the performance of the FICO network is processed and analysed for further action.
•Ensuring that network infrastructure is secure and scaled in line with FICO corporate and internal IT policy.
•Ensuring that all activities adhere to FICO's standard change management policy
•Ensuring the timely resolution or escalation of issues detected by the monitoring systems within published FICO corporate service level agreements.
•Conducts performance monitoring of FICO internal and FICO client networks.
•Follows all published FICO corporate security standards
•Participate in network design reviews with the network engineering group.
•Develop and maintain technical specifications and operational support documents related to the FICO network infrastructure.
•IP address administration

Role/Responsibility:
•Participate in a 24/7 Network Operations Center. This work is done in shifts, with some weekend workend and after hour support required.
•Provide first response technical support for all networking problems and requests for service, related to the FICO network infrastructure, to ensure maximum network availability and customer satisfaction.
•Resolve or escalate complex networking problems.
•Provide network analysis and implement appropriate firewall/network changes as required.
•Coordinate network implementations/changes with the different business units, networking vendors and other technology groups.
•Maintain technical specifications and operational support documents related to the network infrastructure.
•Work directly with clients as needed
•Ensure that all data collected on the performance of the FICO network is processed and analysed appropriately
•Ensuring the timely resolution or escalation of issues detected by the monitoring systems within published FICO corporate service level agreements.
•Conducts performance monitoring of FICO internal and FICO client networks.
 RequirementsEducation/Certifications Required:
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years network experience
•Undergraduate degree or related educational experience iin IT
•Relevant industry qualifications (CCNA, CCDA, or CCNP desirable)

Experience Required:
•Experience with Cisco routers, switches, ASAs, content switching, & firewalls in an Enterprise Environment
•General knowledge about server & application functions
•Operations experience with experience working an Enterprise Environment preferred.
•VPN implementation and suppor experience preferred
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
•Checkpoint Firewall
•Routing Protocols – OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP
•Experience with packet analysis tools (sniffers) desirable
•Experience with NAT, VPN, standard and extended ACL’s
•Experience with Cisco equipment a must
•Cisco Internetworking-HSRP, Access-Lists, Priority Queuing,
Traffic Shaping, DLSW, VLAN, Private VLAN, Spanning Tree, experience
•SNMP familiarity
•General Unix/Linux desired
•Experience with Local and Wide Area Networks with specific expertise in IP routing and Switching.
•Team player, strong communication and written skills.
•Experience in the creation of technical documentation, and use of Visio.
•Knowledge of IP network service support operations and change methodologies to include ITIL.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Must be a self starter and have a thirst to learn new technologies
