Software Development Manager
Job Description
Looking for a Software Development Manager to help lead a software development team. As the Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management a work unit within the software development group. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving software features from design to implementation and enjoy development in a software ecosystem that evolves rapidly. Being a strong communicator who is easy going and well versed in SCRUM and web application development is important.
You and your team of 10+ developers will be responsible for the technical quality, implementation and maintenance of systems for our clients. You will also be responsible for the career planning and growth of the team members. We are looking for an ethical and direct personality that encompasses and believes in our core values.
Responsibilities:

Ensure operational integrity through visibility and monitoring

Communicate and coordinate changes to groups outside of development

Mentor developers on technology and engineering skills

Work with capacity planners to assign the right developers to the right projects

Recommend staff for promotion and make salary recommendations as needed

Responsible for recommendations regarding hiring and termination decisions in the programming department
Job Requirements
Required Skills:
-
A minimum of 3 years in a management role, preferably in an internet services agency environment

A minimum of 6 years’ experience working with web-based, database driven software
-
Excellent understanding of SQL and a general knowledge of databases

Experience with multiple programming languages (.Net and/or PHP preferred)
-
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Excellent communication skills
-
Bachelors in Computer Science or similar
This is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients in Raleigh, NC. The salary is expected to go up to $90,000. No sponsorship available.
