SDI is looking for a Mechanisms Engineer for a 1 month contract for our client located in Plymouth, MI*Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)*Strong Communication Skills (written and verbal)*Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting*Demonstrated ability to tear down and evaluate seat mechanisms to determine root cause of issues.*Physics / BEA (Basic Engineering Analysis) - demonstrated ability to do hand calculations using Free Body Diagrams as well as ability to determine stress levels in components within assembly*Ability to graphically represent and interpret data*GD&T/dimensional management - demonstrated ability to illustrate Datum walk component to assemblies, complete hand tolerance stacks, and apply GD&T to drawings and connect drawing content to mfg and gage strategy*Ability to work effectively between DFMEA, dwgs, and related process tools*Demonstrated ability to use industry-typical disciplined problem solving methods and tools (KT, 8D, and BEP)*CATIA v5 capability*Ability to independently develop tactical plans and execute*Drawing/Layout quality - familiar with NA and Global drafting standards, can review and check drawings for correctness and compliance to standards.*Statistical Analysis - Basic understanding of 6-sigma and variation analysis tools and ability to recognized when use is appropriate*Demonstrated ability to methodically reproduce issues, develop theories, and confirm theories through experimentation*Material Mechanics & Properties - understanding of typical material behavior, failure modes, stress/strain theory*CAE methods - knowledge and understanding of predictive analysis tools (FEA, dynamic multi-body motion analysis software) providing inputs and interpretation of results*Demonstrated ability to innovate practical designs and solutions to seat metals and/or mechanisms issues, new business opportunities, and new development projectsTalent and Resources, Aligned. www.superiorjobs.com.  Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: *BSME*Minimum of 5 years experience in automotive industry*Minimum of 5 years experience with mechanism kinematics development of mechanisms using industry typical toolsMinimum of 3 years experience with the following:*Designing for stamping manufacturing process and forming limitations*Designing for material joining processes (GMAW)*Designing for material joining processes (Resistance)*Thread fastened joint design (BSR mitigation, structural integrity)*Staked joint design (BSR mitigation, structural integrity)Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
