Business Analyst
Responsibilities: Kforce is seeking a Business Analyst for an Englewood, Colorado client. The Business Analyst Lead is responsible for leading and participating in all phases of a project including initial project planning, functional specifications definition and documentation, process analysis, estimating, and implementation. The Lead will act as an advocate for the business units by translating their business needs into technology and process solutions. Initiatives range from solving issues that arise in daily production to designing significant system enhancements.
The Lead will also guide a team that coordinates technical and non-technical business requirements. This Lead and the team members will be expected to prepare comprehensive specification documents detailing the process for creating, auditing, and fulfilling data requirements and serve as a point person for specific areas of expertise.
Responsibilities Include:
- Be an accountable resource in providing analytical expertise based on application and process knowledge to recommend solutions that meet the business need
- Create functional specification documentation that consists of use cases including documented workflows and business rules; screen prototypes and user and application interface designs to communicate planned system functionality
- Define and assist Development with designing technology based solutions to meet business requests within established technology frameworks
- Provide estimates based on work effort and application knowledge
- Be responsible and accountable for leading all Analysis-phase deliverables at the Program, Project, or BAU levels such as; traceability matrix, requirement sign-off, functional specification documentation, review test scenarios to ensure complete coverage of release contents; and manage change controls and integration into existing work items in flight

Our client's Manager is looking to bring someone on that could essentially lead and manage a pool of BAs. There are 5 BAs in the Group and there should be more consistency on the way they do things. As such, they are looking for a Business Analyst Team Lead with a lot of BA experience and is interested in helping the Manager formulate some best practices, consistent terminology, consistent and repeatable processes, etc.
Specific Qualifications:
- 5+ years of business analysis experience are required
- A BS Degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology (IT), Business, Finance or related discipline
- Must be an expert in eliciting user requirements
- Must be able to identify and document user stories: user acceptance criteria / constraints
- Identify opportunities for process improvement (gap analysis, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation)
- Regularly communicate with executives; in writing and orally
- Work with product owners to develop business cases
