Boiler Engineer Job
Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Sr. Boiler Engineering Specialist with 15+ years of experience inspecting, designing, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, operating & maintaining large fossil fired Utility boilers. You will provide boiler engineering support for operating power plants with regards to performance and condition assessments, design modifications, and the upgrading and replacement of boiler pressure part components. Excellent pay, bonus and relocation package.
Responsibilities
- Provide boiler engineering support for operating power plants with regards to performance and condition assessments, design modifications, and the upgrading and replacement of boiler pressure part components
- Collect and analyze boiler performance data
- Conducting design and performance calculations
- Work in conjunction with the Boiler Reliability group in assessing pressure part component condition and designing improvements
- Work with power plant personnel to understand operations & maintenance practices and the impact on boiler performance
- Optimizing boiler operation to maximize facility production
- Recommend changes in procedures, equipment, or materials as necessary to maintain and improve boiler performance, reduce O&M costs, and increase reliability
- Conducting pressure part inspections-> You will be based out of a corporate office in New Jersey and travel 50% of the time to service plant throughout the US
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience inspecting, commissioning, testing, designing, troubleshooting, operating & maintaining large fossil fired Utility boilers
- Experience working for a boiler OEM (Babcock & Wilcox, Foster Wheeler, Alstom) in their Field Service division would be a BIG PLUS
- If you don't have 15+ years of related experience, our client will accept 10 years if you have a BSME
- You need the ability to perform onsite inspections of boilers and components
- You need to be familiarity with ASME boiler pressure vessel codes and standards
- Understanding of boiler tube corrosion and failure mechanisms
- You must have utility sized boiler design experience

- The salary range listed in the ad is a total compensation range
- This position pays all overtime at a straight time rate
- You should expect to make at least 10-15% of your salary in overtime
- 8% potential performance bonus
