Director, Compensation

Summary: This position is accountable for the strategic planning and direction of compensation, objectives, programs, policies, and effectiveness in order to allow the Company to attract and retain world class talent to support business objectives. Establishes compensation strategy and top level policies.  Works with business partners to  ensure compensation programs are consistent with overall corporate strategy.  Works with the VP, Human Resources to support the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors through preparation of agenda and materials for presentation and approval by the Committee.

Education and Experience:                             

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Accounting. 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible Human Resources related experience, preferably eight (8) years’ experience in the development, management, and administration of compensation programs. 
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. 
  • Excellent project management, decision making and judgment skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise effectively within a team environment. 
  • Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills.  Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure. 
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior level staff, both internal and external to the company. 
  • Proven creative, innovative and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Proven negotiation and persuasion skills and abilities. 
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of software applications within a Windows based operating environment
