Data Management Engineer
Job Description
Looking for a database engineer who also has open source software engineering experience (PHP, Python or Ruby is accepted). Responsibilities will include designing and implementing data management work-flows, creating data quality routines, identifying data quality measurements, and creating advanced analytics to communicate program results to business stakeholders.
Experience:
-
SQL based programming, database design and development experience of 2+ years
-
Experience in ETL process development and monitoring
-
Open source software engineering
-
Exposure to DataFlux Data Management Studio and creation of data jobs for data management a plus
-
Data management practices and should have excellent SQL skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be energized by performing in a team environment
Job Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Work on data acquisition, data import , data export and data management activities (using DataFlux Data Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS)
-
Create and monitor routines to analyze, measure and improve data quality
-
Perform database development tasks
-
Participate in data modeling and software design
-
Collaborate with business managers to define high level and detailed requirements
-
Responsible for estimation of work effort for projects
-
Responsible for writing stored procedures, triggers, SQL code (for application support, reporting and analytics purposes)
-
Assist team leads by working on proof of concept and prototyping activities to assess whether the proposed architecture and components meet the non-functional requirements; reliability, performance, and maintainability

5% travel to interface with Raleigh-based teams
Desired Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or information sciences with experience of 2+ years in the areas outlined above

Strong business and technical knowledge. Must be able to initiate and handle projects (along with team lead). Must be able to clearly communicate the results to non-technical audiences.

Strong team player, excellent communication skills across all levels within and outside the organization.
