Princeton Information is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (BA) who will be responsible for all aspects of functional requirements management. The BA engages Business and Technology groups (onshore and offshore) to ensure that the requirements support the delivery of appropriate solutions to business needs around the world. This is not a Project Manager position.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The BA acts as a business process and data analyst, specification writer, and business Subject Matter Expert (SME). The BA advances the high level business requirements into detailed functional/data requirements, obtaining signoff on these and managing changes to them via a controlled process.
The BA advises the Development and Testing teams who use the requirements documents as the basis for their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Compliance organization supporting the Trade Surveillance domain with a particular focus on the integration and enhancement of Preferred Broker feeds.
Elicit, analyze, document and validate requirements through industry recognized Business Analysis techniques (data analysis, process analysis, interviewing, prototyping, use case definition, business rules definition, etc).
Document the data input, validation, enrichment and output requirements related to any data interfaces required for the business solution. Analyze the actual data and identify/communicate data quality issues.
Document the human interface functionality (screens, reports, etc) required for the business solution.
Achieve consensus and obtain sign-off from key stakeholders on the requirements documents.
Identify gaps and risks revealed, manage to resolution/implementation and escalate as needed.
Ensure that changes to requirements are understood, agreed to and incorporated via a Change Control process.
Advise the development, testing and production support teams as needed, providing requirements knowledge and subject matter expertise to the teams performing these functions.
Follow client SDLC process and documentation standards and best practices to produce deliverables.
Continuously improve subject matter expertise in the business areas being supported, sufficient to become a Trusted Advisor to the Business stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Direct experience (minimum 5 years) with industry recognized techniques performing Business Process and Data Analysis, Requirements Gathering/ Documentation/ Validation and Change Control processes is a must.
Knowledge of Compliance Regulations around personal trading by financial firm employees.
Knowledge of Brokerage Account and pre-clearance processes.
High-level Product knowledge of various types of traded capital market products such as Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Wire, Journals, Cash Deposits etc
Bachelors degree with knowledge and working experience of Capital Markets products.
Skills: (What specific technical skills does the individual need and at what level, e.g. specific IT/spreadsheet/analytical/modelling skills)
Must have strong business analysis skills, employing industry recognized techniques and practices.
Must have strong SQL data querying and analysis skills.
Must have strong requirements documentation and change management skills.
Must have strong interpersonal collaboration, consensus building and problem solving skills.
Must have ability to learn/understand technical implications of system design.
Must be a self starter, be able to learn new concepts quickly and work productively with minimal direction under tight deadlines.
Industry certifications in Business Analyst skills are a strong plus but not required.
Blueprint tool experience is a strong plus but not required.
