 Description Position Summary
  • Coordinates and performs PC, computer network, and telecommunication support activities for Johnson Electric North America-Industry Products Group locations.
  • Specifies, configures, installs, and maintains PC's and local area network hardware, software, upgrades and telecommunications services such as computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, telephone system, data communication equipment, cabling, and related equipment or services as required.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories and user security.
  • Evaluates network hardware/software and makes recommendations for better utilization. Monitors and maintains network stability.
  • Provides support and training to end users in the usage and maintenance of PC software programs and hardware.
  • Manages network computer operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions.
  • Write procedures for known PC/Network related tasks required to be perform by Information Technology staff.
  • Implements and tests disaster recovery plans for PC Servers and network.
  • Establishes, maintains, and documents telephone extensions and voice mail boxes.
  • Communicates with Information Technology staff to report unresolved software, hardware, and operations problems to determine the cause and solution.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of PC hardware/software inventory, network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or necessitated by business conditions or change.
 RequirementsACADEMIC & PERSONAL QUALIFICATION
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree with major study in Computer PC's and Network.
  • Minimum 2-year work experience in PC/Network support position.
  • Knowledge to support Networks, router configuration, and VPN.
  • Knowledge to support Microsoft OS 95 to current, and Microsoft Server OS NT to current.
  • Knowledge to support and upgrade VM-Ware Servers.
  • Understanding of Intranet/Extranet/Internet.  Must understand Internet servers.
  • Knowledge to support Microsoft Office 2000 to current.
  • Must be able to interact well with all employees, vendors, etc.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keep confidential information confidential.
  • Some travel required.
