Automation Manager/ Controls Manager

 Description

Seeking Automation Manager for manufacturer of stainless steel food, dairy and pharmaceutical process equipment in Marshfield, WI.  Relocation paid.

Position Summary
:

The Automation Manager provides direction, technical expertise, and leadership to the Automation Department. Responsible for day to day operations of the Automation Department, including engineering assignments for projects, defining department goals, review of proposals, development of personnel, and meeting\exceeding profit goals as set by the sales budget.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop yearly operations budget for the Automation Department.
  • Develop personnel through motivation, mentoring, and training.
  • Monitor and reviews RFQ assignments with Automation Estimators
  • Monitor and review project schedules with assigned Automation Engineers and Panel Shop Lead to ensure that they are meeting their required objectives.
  • Review and approve time cards and vacation requests.
  • Works closely with the Panel Shop Lead to maintain direction of the Panel Shop
  • Interfaces with customers as needed for Sales pre-qualification, RFQs, and projects.
  • Organizes and executes plan to the Automation Department to meet\exceed profit goals.
  • Helps in the interview selection process for open positions and trains new associate team members.
  • Maintains Automation Engineering standards and SOPs to ensure a quality engineered product.
  • Coordinates with Estimating, Sales, Process Engineering, Production planning as well as the shop floor on meeting requirements on budgets and timelines on all projects.
  • When needed, performs duties as defined by the Automation Engineer and Automation Estimation\Applications Engineer positions
  • Performs duties as assigned by Director of Engineering.

 

 

 

 

 Requirements

Education & Experience:

 

A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree is preferred. At least 7-10 years experience in an integrated design team environment and prior leadership experience is required. Knowledge of Control System Electrical Engineering\Design, PLC\HMI Programming, and Instrumentation is required. Knowledge of Process Control Systems related to the pharmaceutical, food processing, chemical, beverage, and dairy industries is preferred.
