Founded in 1995and headquartered inChicago IL, we are a Physician group practice and management company specializing in house calls for primarily Medicare home-bound patients who are unable to visit a doctor’s office. Chicago IL. Our business continues to grow over 20% per year in Chicago and Baltimore. We plan to expand to 5-7 other metropolitan areas.  Our Physician group employs over 50 physicians providing primary care, podiatry care, wound management and diagnostic testing. We serve over 6,000 patients in the Chicago metropolitan area and Northwest Indiana and an additional 1000 patients in Baltimore. The patients are located primarily in densely populated low income areas. We work closely with home health agencies, Case Managers, Discharge Planners, Physicians and Medicare HMO’s for our referrals.  Healthcare Biller/ Coder As the Healthcare Coder and biller, you will support the Medical Director and CFO by reviewing patient assessments which requires extracting baseline diagnosis from Physician reports and working collaboratively with Physicians to assure accurate documentation while you perform the following duties:
  • Affix diagnoses and procedure codes to billing forms when a narrative description is assigned.
  • Review billing forms for coding accuracy and compliance. 
  • Work claim and coding edits.
  • Timely submission of clean claims for billing.
  • Work actively with physicians to initiate corrections and resolve discrepancies in coding.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to assure accurate and timely submission of superbills.
  • Work collaboratively with the Compliance Director and Medical Director to identify trends and physician education needs.
  • Update and maintain the NextGen system with updated provider, diagnoses procedure, fee schedule and claim dictionaries. Answer all billing related questions and resolve billing problems.
  • Review third party payer policies and procedures to make sure we are in billing compliance. 

  • Job Requirements

    Requirements:The ideal candidate must be a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and will possess a Bachelor's degree and a thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding by passing a test. A demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and coding classification systems and the ability to apply this knowledge in determining appropriate physician coding. The ability to communicate effectively with team, work independently and balance multiple priorities. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and medical software; preferably NextGen.  Benefits:We value our employees’ time and efforts.
