Ruby on Rails Web Developer

Job Requirements

Fluency in the following languages, concepts and software is necessary:

        Rails (the latest version 2.3)

        Git (an understanding of submodules and branches is a must)

        Server (Linux) maintenance (via SSH)

        Comfort with Terminal and Linux shell commands

        MySQL

        Rails-based processes (preferably Thin but Mongrel is fine)

        Capistrano deployment

        Javascript/AJAX

        HTML

        CSS (no tables!)

        Cross-browser compatibility

        SEO

        Photoshop (image slicing)

        Mass emailing (via cronjobs and a mail queue)

        Familiarity with common web servers (ie. Nginx, LightTPD, Apache)

        Experience with DNS and SSL management

While not required for the position, we’d also like to know if you have other related skills such as SEO/SEM, analytics, online community development, agile development and/or IT/network infrastructure. Any experience in these areas is a plus.
