Senior Test Engineer
The Senior Test Engineer will have responsibility in the verification testing of magnetics assemblies and ICM designs to ensure component and system level compliance to IEEE 802.3 requirements; and in working closely with the teams of design, manufacturing, product management, sales and customers.
In terms of organization structure, the Sr. Test Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering in Menlo Park.
The Sr. Test Engineer will be entrusted with four general responsibilities:
• This position will support the development of test fixtures, methodologies, and techniques to verify electrical performance at Interconnect-Module (ICM) component level as well as system testing with selected PHY and power controller chip reference design teams. In this capacity, this position requires close collaboration with customers, PHY and other partners in defining testing methodologies for new and novel products.
• The senior testing engineer will also supervise the Reno test lab; manage test lab technician & a junior engineer. This person is also responsible for all reliability testing including thermal, electrical and mechanical robustness, provides required testing documentation, and provides FA support on major program QA issues. Responsibilities also include providing direction and supervision the test team in the factory in China.
• This position is responsible for testing the performance of ICM, including PoE/PoE+, data analyses, utilizing the latest software and techniques to enhance testing and conducting competitive analyses.
• This position also requires EMI (bench-top and chamber) and other reliabilities testing.
We are looking for an experienced and highly-motivated leader, with fundamental understanding and working knowledge of Ethernet Interconnect Modules and testing:
• At least 5 year experience in electronic Testing;
• A technical undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics(required) and Masters degree or higher is desirable.
• An industry background in electronic systems or electronic components with emphasis on product testing (5 years experience) and EMI/EMC experience.
