Job Description

Description Our client is a major Pharmaceutical company located in Montville NJ. Their goal is to discover products that will improve human health worldwide by diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases. As a specialty pharmaceutical company, they focus their efforts where they can have the most impact: diagnostic imaging, hematology/cardiology, oncology, specialized therapeutics, and women's healthcare. Our client is currently looking for a Team Lead Drug Safety for their Montville location. This is a long term contract position that could be extended or even made permanent.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • The Team Leader oversees a team of Data Coordinators responsible for case receipt, entry into the affiliate module of the safety database, duplicate check, follow-up, and report distribution for a specific TA or subset of TAs handling individual case safety reports and cases resulting from literature searches.
  • Accountable for initial determination of case seriousness, priority, and routing. 
  • Accountable for the Report Origination (RO) function in coordination with the PV Country Head

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • MD degree; or PhD, PharmD, DPM, or DVM degree preferred with  2 or more years pharmacovigilance and 2 years of clinical experience,or MS, BS RPH, RN HCP,or
  • Life Science degree preferred, plus 3 or more years of pharmacovigilance experience and 2 years of clinical experience or
  • relevant BSP experience BS in health science field, RN, Pharm.D or equivalent with at least 3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with1-3 years experience with adverse event reporting in a clinical setting; experience in handling medical complaints is essential.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and cross-train a small but diverse team spanning four job levels.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical terminology with the ability to relate it to an array of medical conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to tactfully direct a conversation to obtain essential factual information in situations where emotions may otherwise prevail.
  • Excellent clinical inquiry skills with the ability to maintain an open and cordial interview while also working to extract and record critical clinical details.
  • Must be a team player; possess excellent telephone/communication skills with a high degree of overall poise, tact and courtesy.
  • Must be detail oriented and be willing to work in a hectic paced environment with time-sensitive materials.
