Nutrition Database Consultant

Location: Oak Brook, IL
Duration: 6 Months+

Position Description:
This position is intended for the management of accurate nutrition and ingredient information for the client. The position involves data entry of U.S. product information into Client's global database and maintaining accurate information within the database. This individual will also be responsible for validating published nutrition information against the master database. The qualified candidate should have an educational background in nutrition and preferably should have previous experience with nutrition databases. Candidate must possess great attention to detail and be genuinely interested in diligent data management.

Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the maintenance of accurate nutrition and ingredient information in Client’s nutrition database.
•Implement appropriate naming conventions, references, and history logs within the database.
•Calculate nutrient information and create Nutrition Facts Panels for new test products and on-going menu changes.
•Responsible for team deliverables and meeting specific milestones related, but not limited to regular nutrient data inquiries by creating Excel reports, Nutrition Facts Panels, and other custom reports.
•Serve as primary reviewer/approver of all communication vehicles that carry nutrition information. Materials include tray-liners, packaging, menu-boards, marketing ads and other documents as appropriate.
•Follow, maintain, document and establish standard processes to maintain, sustain, and improve the nutrition database.
•Collaborate with Director and Manager of U.S. Nutrition to define additional system requirements and functionalities.
•Assume any other responsibilities or complete any special projects as directed by either the Director or Manager of U.S. Nutrition.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Technical proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel
2. Nutritional database experience. Knowledge of or experience with ESHA Research Genesis R & D SQL product development and labeling software or similar nutrition databases is strongly preferred.
3. Degree in Dietetics, Food Science or Human Nutrition
4. Registered Dietician Certification (RD) or be RD eligible
