PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for executing microbiological testing, as it relates to the Phase I/II vaccine products.
2. Executing microbiological assays such as sterility testing, LAL gel clot testing, bioburden testing, media growth promotion assays, and various bacterially derived product analyses. Must be familiar with basic laboratory equipment and aseptic technique.
3. Order supplies and perform basic care of laboratory equipment.
4. Assist senior associates on lab projects as requested and work on specialty projects as assigned.
5. Responsible for limited data review and trend analysis as requested.
6. Must be willing to participate in SOP revision and training of QC staff.
7. Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to rotating duties on in house water system and clean steam collection, as well as USP testing of the water systems as the schedule dictates.
8. Tasks also involve environmental monitoring of clean rooms as the schedule dictates.
9. May serve as backup for analytical QC methods, as Supervisor dictates.
10. Provide assistance as needed on proposal writing projects and provide assistance with all job-related progress reports/technical reports.
11. Maintain a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.
12. Performs light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.
