Java/J2ee Performance Engineer
POSITION CAN WORK EITHER IN THE DENVER/EVERGREEN COLORADO AREA (on a remote basis) or in Charlotte, NC
The primary responsibility of this position is to performance profile and
stress test Java EE based Web applications. The candidate, as part of a small and specialized agile team, will be required to take J2EE applications developed by application development teams, performance profile them, make necessary modifications, and execute stress tests on them. The testing approach involves designing test harnesses, establishing benchmark data, creating and executing test scripts. Some tools to be utilized are JMeter, Introscope, and profiling tools such as JProbe and JProfiler to analyze performance down to the method and object level. Must be able to recommend coding practices to address performance issues.
- 2-3 years experience with stress testing and profiling Java applications;
5+ years experience coding in Java;
- Very strong debugging and problem solving skills
Hands on experience working with IBM's RAD IDE;
Experience with stress testing and code profiling software (e.g., JMeter, Introscope, JProbe, and/or JProfiler);
Working in a fast paced environment with a focus on result and reporting.
