Job Description
The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for Registration, Housing and Lead Retrieval data. Applicant must have the ability to communicate with multiple departments, clients and outside contractors. Applicant must also be able to provide user support as needed. The applicant will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of the organization's production database. This role also includes the development and design of database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements. The applicant may also plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard the database.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing/maintaining SQL Server databases for several departments
Responsible for creating custom reports utilizing MS Access and Crystal Reports for several departments
Create and run regular updates for membership, exhibiting company and session information for multiple databases
Create and run scheduled imports, exports and reports for clients for multiple departments/databases
Set up badge runs for Registration based on provided, specific criteria
Customize master contract database for JS&A management as needed
Automate data import process using SQL 2000 DTS and/or SQL 2005 SSIS
Assist in the planning and implementation of the migration of SQL Server 2000 database to SQL Server 2005
Will be responsible for converting all existing SQL 2000 Data Transformation Package to SQL 2005 SSIS during migration process
Assist in the planning, development and design of the database structure for a new software application to be used for Registration and Housing to include: system planning, requirement analysis, design, development and testing and documentation
Create a data dictionary for current SQL Server Registration and Housing Databases
Assist Web Developers with the creation and maintenance of stored procedures, triggers, views and user designed functions for use in Reporting and Registration/Housing Application
Responsible for creating, scheduling and monitoring SQL Server DTS/SSIS packages designed to update, export and maintain client data
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in CIS or related field
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) preferred
4+ yrs experience with database development, maintenance and administration
Experience with MS SQL Server and/or Crystal Reports preferred
Extensive knowledge of MS SQL 2000 and MS SQL 2005
Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server DTS, SSIS and SSRS
Extensive knowledge and experience with ETL tools such as Ab Initio, Informatica
Proficiency with MS Access and Excel
Organized and detail oriented
Team player who requires minimal supervision
Excellent oral and written communication skills
