Job Description:
Responsible for modernization of legacy applications that support the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting Systems (DEERS) at Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). Identifies and organizes detailed user and technology information requirements. Designs, develops, implements, and supports business applications using Java technologies. Coordinates and collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Builds, confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the client. Develops and executes unit test plans, ensuring that results are documented and reviewed with Quality Assurance teams responsible for integrated testing. Develops technical documentation in support of new development, upgrades, and enhancements. All work to be performed on site, no telecommuting.
· Interacts with the client and business analysts to gain an understanding of the business and technological requirements.
· Analyzes requirements and develops technical design.
· Develops technical specifications document.
· Develops code.
· Develops and executes unit test plans.
· Develops and maintains technical documentation.
· Applies metrics to monitor performance.
Job Requirements
Required Skills:
6 + years of hands-on experience developing J2EE applications with J2EE 1.3/1.4 Compliant application Servers.
2+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying using Enterprise service bus model. Experience with one of the established ESB products(Oracle ESB, Aqualogic ESB, mule ESB) is a plus
2+ years of experience in using UDDI registry, for registering and managing services from one of the established vendors (IBM, Oracle, Weblogic …).
2+ years of experience in developing and implementing JAX-RPC based web services
2+ years of implementation experience with Oracle AQ or Weblogic JMS
Full life cycle experience, involved in requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support
Demonstrated experience researching and evaluating new technologies
Demonstrated analytical and Problem Solving skills
Excellent communication abilities - written and oral
Experience with Weblogic Application Server.
Focus on timely and quality delivery of solutions.
Act as team lead and mentor new team members on various technologies as necessary
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of developing against Oracle Databases
Experience with Oracle Application Server and Oracle JDeveloper
J2EE/Java performance testing and tuning experience.
Oracle BPEL Engine.
