Equifax Names Trey Loughran to Lead Strategic Mergers & Acquisitions


ATLANTA, March 28, 2006 – Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) today announced that Joseph M. ("Trey") Loughran has been appointed senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions, reporting to Chairman and CEO Richard F. Smith. Loughran will spearhead the company's mergers and acquisitions growth strategy across key market sectors.

"Trey has a proven track record of successfully managing corporate strategy and finance, mergers, acquisitions and alliances for companies ranging from technology start-ups to billion dollar industry leaders," said Smith. "The addition of Trey to our senior management team demonstrates Equifax's continued commitment to attract the top talent in today's marketplace."

Loughran joins Equifax after a distinguished career with BellSouth Corp., where he held a number of leadership positions, including most recently Managing Director of the company's Corporate Strategy and Planning department. During his five-year tenure at BellSouth, Loughran also served as Executive Director of Marketing in BellSouth's Interconnection Services unit, a $4.1 billion wholesale division of the company. His thought leadership in the areas of pricing, product management and marketing earned him the 2004 Network Services Excellence Award.

Before joining BellSouth, Loughran helped launch Global Food Exchange, an Internet-based software company that raised $30 million in equity investment. As the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development, Loughran managed the company's financial performance and negotiated strategic partnerships and alliances.

Loughran's extensive experience and background also includes nearly four years as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Working across a number of industries, Loughran cultivated in-depth knowledge of corporate strategy and finance, alliances, joint ventures, and post-merger integration and management. Prior to joining McKinsey, Loughran served as an attorney with King & Spalding in Atlanta and an investment banking analyst with Lazard Frères & Co. in New York.

Loughran holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and a law degree from Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
