Bringing together a team of experienced professionals is the first step toward increasing an Emergency Department's effectiveness. To do this, EmCare recruits a Medical Director who is well-suited to a client hospital's culture and community. The Medical Director acts as the on-site CEO for the contract, interfacing with the medical staff and handling the day-to-day aspects of the practice.
EmCare assigns an ED nurse consultant who works with the ED Nurse Manager and Medical Director to identify opportunities for improvement in the ED. Through studies and analyses, they benchmark current levels of performance and identify where efficiencies can be made, while improving the quality of patient care. Having a dedicated RN assigned to each hospital differentiates EmCare among other ED practice management groups. EmCare recognizes the importance of the synergy created between the physicians and nursing staff and actively involves both groups to improve patient care and increase customer satisfaction.
Lastly, a business professional works with the client hospital to ensure the department is running in a fiscally sound manner and to coordinate other services that may be needed. This team of experienced professionals monitors and evaluates how the department is running, identifies the tools and expertise necessary to improve the department's effectiveness, implements the appropriate integrated service solutions, then manages and continues to monitor the overall effectiveness of the program.
