About PJM
PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization (RTO) that plays a vital role in the U.S. electric system.
· PJM ensures the reliability of the largest electric grid in North America by coordinating the movement of electricity in all or parts of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
· PJM, acting neutrally and independently, operates the largest wholesale electricity market in the world.
· PJM manages a sophisticated regional planning process for generation and transmission expansion to assure future electric reliability.
· PJM facilitates a collaborative stakeholder process. Stakeholders include participants that produce, buy, sell, move and regulate electricity.
Benefits
PJM Benefits and Compensation Pay Salary bands are based on the skill level of the job. Merit increases are based on job performance, which are reviewed annually. Employees may receive additional compensation at year end based on their individual performance, the performance of the overall organization, and their respective Division through an incentive compensation program. Flexible Benefits Program PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. provides a comprehensive, flexible program of benefits for health, life and long-term disability insurance. The menu of benefits includes: Medical Plan Options Indemnity Option: This is a Blue Cross (Traditional) plan. HMO: Employees residing in the Philadelphia area also have the option of selecting an HMO (Keystone Health Plan Central) PPO: Employees have the option of selecting one PPO (BC/BS Personal Choice) POS: Employees have the option of selecting two POS's (Aetna/US Healthcare-Liberty C and Keystone Health Plan East) Dental Plan Options BC/BS - Comprehensive II Aetna/US Healthcare - Comprehensive II Basic Life Insurance Permits employees to choose coverage levels from one to six times total base pay with a core benefit of 1 x base pay provided to all employees. Dependent Life Insurance Permits employees to choose coverage for a spouse in the amounts of $100,000, $50,000 or $10,000 and/or $10,000 or $5,000 per child. Accidental Death & Dismemberment Permits employees to choose coverage levels from one to six times total base pay with a core benefit of 1 x base pay provided to all employees. Short-term Disability Provides employees with 100% pay continuation for 26 weeks in the event of a qualifying disability. Long-term Disability Includes a core benefit of 50% of base pay with buy-up options of 60% or 66 2/3% which may be purchased. This benefit begins when short-term disability benefits are exhausted. Long-term Care Long-term care is a benefit which includes coverage when the insured is in a Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facility. Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts Allows employees to set aside tax-free funds to pay for unreimbursed medical expenses and day care for children and dependent adults. Each plan is administered separately and both have an annual maximum contribution of $5,000. Coverage Effective Date Benefits elected under the BeneFlex Program will become effective one month following the hire date unless other arrangements have been agreed upon as a condition of employment. Basic Benefits Program Business Travel Accident Insurance Provides round-the-clock coverage against accidental death or serious injury while traveling on Company business, for an amount equal to ten (10) times annual base pay, up to a maximum of $1,000,000. This benefit is provided free of charge to employees. Eldercare Senior Management Services is a corporate eldercare program to benefit all employees at no cost. This firm specializes in providing information and referral contacts to help working caregivers provide support for their older family members anywhere in the United States. 401K Savings Plan Available upon completion of six months of service. The plan combines payroll savings and tax deferral features. You may defer from 1% to 15% of your pay. The company contributes an amount equal to 50% of the first 5% contributed to the plan. Pension Plan The PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. pension plan pays you an income for life after you retire. You will have a vested benefit after 5 years of service. This benefit is for all employees hired in the classification of "regular" and does not apply to those hired in the classification of "specially assigned." Paid Holidays Employees receive a total of twelve (12) paid holidays per year, 9 of which are scheduled, and 3 paid floating holidays. Floating holidays are to be used to observe religious holidays or for other personal reasons. These floating holidays are subject to managerial approval. Vacations Annual paid vacations are granted based on length of service. Educational Assistance/Loan Program PJM refunds or advances a tuition loan for a minimum of 50% and up to 100% of tuition and registration cost to employees who take approved courses outside working hours at accredited schools. Paid Absence PJM provides an appropriate number of absence days for: 1) military training (less compensation received); 2) witness and jury duty; and 3) bereavement. Additional Programs Flextime The normal workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. This varies in certain divisions and positions. Flexible hours are permitted in many areas, allowing employees to develop personalized schedules, subject to the work requirements of the division with approval of their immediate departmental manager.
