You will have responsibilities to coordinate and work directly on a multi-discipline engineering team to design new facilities as well as major modifications to an existing nuclear power stations. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of activities, including analysis, structural steel, concrete, foundations, component supports, and equipment achorage design. You will also be involved in design and analysis for complex load conditions, including seismic, wind, thermal, pressurization, and blast effects. You will be interfacing with clients and Sargent & Lundy management in the execution of your design activities.
BS or MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. At least 5 years of engineering experience working on power plant or industrial design and/or modification projects. Experience with commercial analysis and design software such as STAAD, SAP, SAFE and Mathcad, and knowledge of steel and concrete design codes are required. Good written and verbal communication skills are required along with computer proficiency. Willingness to travel to project sites is also necessary. PE or SE license desired, but not required. Candidates must successfully complete a background investigation.
