Job Description: o Under general supervision, Design Engineer develops engineering design criteria and specifications on assigned projects, prepares quotation requests and purchase orders for equipment and materials. o Undertakes field assignments and factory inspections to ensure compliance to specifications. o Demonstrates interpretive, patterned thinking, and requires minimal guidance. o May act as an area engineer, performs assigned equipment procurement, and performs assigned equipment and/or specification preparation functions under general supervision. o Checks calculations, sketches and layouts of other Engineers or Designers. Responsible for review of Supplier's drawings. o Prepares specifications, calculations, sketches and diagrams. o Inspects equipment at the factory to ensure compliance with specifications and procurement documents. o Undertakes field assignments. o Provides technical information and data to design. o Coordinates information flow between design and other project groups. o Initiates equipment quotation and purchase requests and prepares bid summaries. o Has a good understanding of Instrumentation and Controls practices. Job Requirements: BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. E.I.T. preferred. 7+ years experience on Refinery/petrochemical projects. 7+ years experience on Refinery/petrochemical projects.
