Title: Web Developer Location: San Diego, CA 92110 Duration: 3+ months contract Essential Functions: Provide technical leadership and support in the transition of an enterprise portal into a new enterprise environment. Create customized applications to enhance website capability based on enterprise business needs. Ensure that web pages are functional and conduct tests to verify user functionality. Assist in resolving complex production support problems. Develop web services using internet based protocols and solve interface problems in an object-oriented development environment. Build table frames and forms and write highly complex script within the browser to enhance site functionality. Investigate and resolve matters of significance for end-user problems. Identify issues and gather information; determine and make recommendations on courses of action to resolve problems. Work with end users to address requirements, usability, accessibility, security, and change requests to ensure website functionality. Essential Knowledge: The following qualifications are mandatory requirements: Cross platform experience, MUST include Oracle Portal 10.1.4 Experience in Content management system and template development and deployment Expertise in user-based design Expertise in web design to include multiple technology tools, i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, XML, 508 compliant, Ability to recognize and recommend cost-effective creative solutions Commitment to excellence and high standards Attentive to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance Professional knowledge and experience with all standards and tools for Internet and web-related content delivery Ability to test, troubleshoot, and remedy sites Understands usage and restrictions of fonts, file formats, browser compatibility, viewer interaction, and future maintenance/update requirements. The following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience implementing public web sites according to current Navy policy Experience with SPAWAR and DISA organizations Expertise in search technology and designing for optimal search results and response displays Web services, and other internet based protocols; ability to solve complex problems in object-oriented development environment Graphic design experience, Photoshop, animation, video/web/pod casting Web 2.0 technology experience, i.e. blogs, wikis, social networking, etc. Ability to conceptualize creative projects Working familiarity of print graphics and software applications for conversion to web graphics (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance Essential Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelors degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
