Positions in this function prepare and maintain the organization's federal, international, state and local tax records, returns, corporate tax reports and other related materials. Works with state and federal agencies on tax audits. Prepares and reviews income tax accounting necessary for the organization's federal (SEC) and state (Insurance Departments and Managed Healthcare) filings. Researches, analyzes and advises on legal means to minimize tax liability and may recommend alternative tax treatments and advises management on tax implications resulting from proposed organizational actions. - Reviews the work of others. College degree with a major in accounting, business administration or finance *5 - 7 years tax/accounting and Consulting experience at least 4 of which should be for a Corporate Tax Department or Public Accounting Firm *Sound knowledge of federal tax laws and regulations *Experience in the preparation of Federal corporate, partnership and other tax returns *Corporate tax software such as CORPTAX, VERTEX or INSOURCE *FAS 109 and FIN 48 experience *Highly proficient personal computer skills and technology driven *Basic general ledger understanding *Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships *Strong oral and written communication skills
