Description

The Boston Business Journal needs to add an Account Manager to our media sales team. The BBJ provides vital B2B news and information to the region’s top business leaders across multiple media platforms. We're growing our audiences across our print, digital and event properties because we serve a highly sought after niche and we’re passionate about how we do that. As a BBJ Account Manager you’ll need to constantly challenge yourself to make a difference for your clients and to grow your business. Your success will hinge on your ability to create, develop and maintain consultative relationships with a select group of prospects and clients. Requirements

Product Familiarity/Market Intelligence - BBJ Account Managers must read the BBJ and be familiar with all of its products and competitors. They work to master news that impacts each category they focus their business plans on. They strive to be consultative regarding how those businesses operate and grow. Goals and Business Plans - Our top Account Managers set goals beyond their quotas. They develop an appropriate business plan and work it. Prospecting and Sales Calls - BBJ Account Managers know that identifying business pockets, qualifying prospects and making appointments to deliver solutions are the basis of reaching their goals. They manage their time to be sure these tasks are done according to benchmarks they establish in their business plans. Protected Account Lists - Each Account Manager works on an approved protected list of accounts, prospects and leads. Training - A BBJ Account Manager is expected to be constantly self assessing in order to create an individual career development program and to participate in company provided training programs. Communication and Teamwork - The BBJ staff takes pride in creating and maintaining a healthy, productive and respectful workplace where everybody can develop. That mission demands maximum individual contribution along with a team commitment. Customer Service - A BBJ Account Manager should have a "CSR" (customer service relationship) focus running throughout his or her business plans and should constantly allot time to hone it. Community - BBJ Account Managers participate in hosting BBJ events and involve themselves with the organizations that support and drive their category-related business development efforts.
