System One is currently seeking multiple Construction Managers with strong electrical and/or mechanical knowledge and experience as well as a proven background of work done with the construction and/or modification of power generation facilities. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Participation in project development by providing advice as to methods, practices, potential problems with resolution, etc…during conception and design. Perform estimating or estimating assistance for field operations including development of Earned Value criteria for monitoring progress and performance. Develop ‘scope of work’ for construction activities operations based on the design and/or performance and schedule requirements. Participation in preconstruction subcontractor and vendor evaluations, pre-bid meetings, bid reviews and evaluations, and pre-award meetings…as requested by the client. Expedite all assigned preliminary field operations, measurement, and evaluations in support of project, design, and scope of work development as requested by the client. Develop and manage the project schedule with specific responsibility for all construction related activities, including procurement, pre-construction, deliverables, construction, and commissioning. Manage and supervise all construction activities including mobilization, logistics, plant direct and subcontractor/vendor performance. Track and control all field change order and T&M contract work including adherence to established approval/authorization procedures and reporting cost to the client for management of purchase order values and accounts payable. Develop, schedule, and manage any remediation/corrective activities required by emerging conditions and work scope additions, deductions or exchanges. Assure all contractors and vendors adhere to client safety requirements including training, tagging, and reporting requirements. Perform daily coordination activities with the client personnel/departments and vendors/subcontractors, or service providers. Develop and manage all QA/QC requirements for field and/or offsite scopes of work as dictated by design or industry standards. Compile and report both short and long term “lessons learned” to the client such that the greatest benefit is realized. Identify and report emerging work and evaluate project/non-project relevance. Adhere to methods of reporting and evaluation of such work so that appropriate cost accounting is implemented and/or management direction can be expedited. Evaluate forthcoming projects for construction management support staffing needs. Continually evaluate and implement new construction management tools and methods to enhance performance. Lead by exemplifying policies and procedures related to the core values of safety, quality, and performance throughout the execution of construction management activities.

This position is for a long term project and intended for only those individuals with the ability to commit to seeing project through to its completion. Proven experience in construction and power generation with a minimum of 10 years experience. Strong electrical and/or mechanical expertise/background as it relates to the construction and/or modification of power generation facilities is required. Knowledge of the Maryland Healthy Air Act (HAA). Prior experience working on projects based on HAA requirements is a strong plus. Prior experience as an Owner's Representative or Sr. Construction Manager is required. Background should include experience with general field supervision/management, cost control, performance management, and experience with associated construction management tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
