Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop interior system production intent designs. Conduct design, packaging and system design compatibility studies to determine optimal interior system configurations. Support CAD design assignments for program management and functional engineering multiple Car and Truck vehicle lines. Conduct early feasibility studies based on known engineering, manufacturing and assembly requirements to ensure smooth design transition to sourced Full Service Supplier (FSS). Conduct Interior Integration activities to drive compliance and facilitate resolution of engineering issues between functional engineering, suppliers, design studio and program management to assure timely completion of projects. Create CAD/Engineering design templates to drive re-usability and efficiency. Documentation process, methods and CAD modeling techniques. Skills Required Significant CAD, engineering, craftsmanship and manufacturing knowledge of interior system commodities. Significant knowledge of interior materials and manufacturing processes (plastic, IP substrate, fabrics and mechanisms). Significant Interior modeling design methods knowledge. Knowledge of Seat and Restraint systems and interior interaction. Knowledge of Sheet Metal system and interior interaction (attachments and master locator strategy). Significant digital creation, evaluation and compatibility process knowledge using C3P NG tools (Catia V5, qChecker and Digital Buck/DMU). CAD data management for design development and release. Strong ability to proactively interact with multiple functional organizations; Studio, Engineering, Manufacturing, CAE and FSS. Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Skills Preferred CAE exposure and experience. Class I surface development. Knowledge of associative design methodologies for interior systems. Digital creation, evaluation and compatibility process knowledge using IDEAS. Experience Required 5 plus years CAD work experience with interior commodities throughout entire product development cycle. 5 plus years experience with Catia computer-based design and data management tools (or equivalent). Digital evaluation and compatibility using digital mock-up tools. CAD data management and data exchange experience. Experience Preferred Design release and launch experience. Experience with SDRC I-deas NX. Experience with Plastic Injection Simulation S/W (Moldflow). Education Required Associate Degree in Design or equivalent experience. 5 - 10 years or more of direct related experience in lieu of degree.
