Holt McDougal is a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, one of the nation's premier educational publishers in the , publishing textbooks, instructional technology, assessments, and other educational materials for teachers and students of every age. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt also publishes an extensive line of reference works and award-winning fiction and nonfiction for adults and young readers. Holt McDougal is seeking a Social Studies Marketing Associate who will be responsible for supporting the product line, coordinating and maintaining product information, supporting marketing projects, and maintaining open communication between product marketing and the field. Product Line Maintenance

  • Executes change order process for new and revised product requests
  • Maintains ready date information on new programs
  • Coordinates product implementation information. Marketing Project Support
  • Initiates promotional projects through Marketing Communications
  • Supports the development and execution of marketing materials, activities, and campaigns
  • Collaborates on the planning for conferences, exhibits, and other marketing events and provides logistical support for events
  • Provides support to market research efforts
  • Coordinates special projects as directed by the content area marketing director. Sales Support and Training
  • Responds to sales reps’ queries and requests
  • Maintains online database of product sales manual files, promotional materials, competitive analysis, program descriptions, etc.
  • Assists is creating sales force training sessions and materials Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicates product information including ready dates, new product announcements, product issues, etc. via established channels
  • Collaborates with other marketing staff and departments in the coordination of projects, processes, and information
  • Maintains open communication between product marketing and the sales force
  • Communicates detailed information related to pricing, packaging, and customization to marketing, operations, and other internal/external staff
  • Communicates with product authors and consultants
  • Supports program authors with expense reporting

    Requirements

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in Marketing, content area, or Education
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
