POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the product manager is to campaign their assigned product(s) and assist the product manager(s) with driving the messaging and training as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Gathers and synthesizes market intelligence from primary and secondary research, internal historical data, and field/customer input; meets with editorial counterparts to contribute to the direction of respective products Develops strategic marketing plans, sampling strategies and manages budgets to meet annual goals for product line Develops product positioning and drives promotional planning, including the rollout of all collateral for sales needs and to support sales Provides product training to the field and internal groups and provides ongoing sales support Develops high level presentations to support significant sales opportunities Manages the creation of strategic competitive analysis for internal and external use Aids in product order and product display needs for conferences and meetings Drives pricing and packaging based on information gathered
KEY ATTRIBUTES: Experience with Saxon Math educational materials mandatory K-12 publishing and/or curriculum experience essential Able to work independently and is well organized Able to effectively apply research and efficacy information to product promotional campaigns Solid communication, writing, and presentation skills Willing to take responsibility for tasks and see them through to completion Able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks Able to travel for training and conferences throughout the United States and Canada Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office is mandatory
