A Richmond, Virginia headquartered manufacturing company with over 100 years of experience developing, designing, manufacturing, and marketing consumer products.  This organization has one of the world’s largest and most modern manufacturing facilities located in Richmond.  Focused on business, growth strategy, and innovation this organization is positioned to continue to be their industry leader in consumer products. 

 

Median Pay: $30. - $45. hourly

Requirements

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain needed files by adding and deleting files on the network server and backing up files to guarantee their safety in the event of problems with the network.
  • Monitor system performance and provide security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Assist users to diagnose and solve data communication problems.
  • Set up user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access to ensure confidentiality and proper use.
  • Design and implement systems, network configurations, and network architecture, including hardware and software technology, site locations, and integration of technologies.
  • Maintain the peripherals, such as printers, that are connected to the network.
  • Identify areas of operation that need upgraded equipment such as modems, fiber optic cables, and telephone wires.
  • Develop and write procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware and software.
  • May train users in use of equipment.
  • May adapt and modify existing software to meet specific needs.

Qualifications:

  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Telecommunications — Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Mathematics — Strong knowledge of mathematical applications; preferably calculus or statistics.
  • Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

  • Education
    • Experience: 2-7 years in Network Engineer field.
    • Education: Associate or Vocational Degree, or comparable work experience.
  • Location — Living / willing to live near the Richmond, VA. area.
