Title: Sr. Developer Location: Rockville, MD Job Type: Contract-to-Prem Architect/Developer The Architect/Developer will work with other members of Market Regulation Data Ingestion Platform team responsible for the definition and delivery of data processing solutions across the tower projects on all aspects of Datastage administration, development and maintenance. The Architect/Developer reports directly to the Platform Director. Candidate must have expert knowledge of SQL. Experience with Java, UNIX administration, C++ and Datastage is required. Exposure to other ETL tools and Data Warehouse appliances such as Netezza a plus. Essential Job Functions: § Commitment to the delivery of software to the project manager. § Willingness to acquire expert knowledge of Datastage and Netezza. § Performance tunes and optimizes solutions using load balancing and distributed hardware architecture. § Coordinates with external project resources, including configuration management and Operations & Engineering. § Communicates task progress and issues to management and project sponsor. § Drives architecture decisions in small to medium sized projects. § Ensure compliance with standard software development practices, processes and enterprise standards. § Define, design, develop and deliver flexible solutions that meet business user needs § Provide day-to-day support for less experienced programmers. § Provide recommendations based on Datastage and Netezza audit/monitoring § Develop design documentation, Installation Guides and Release Notes for all development efforts
