   Job Description:

    WebSphere Administrator
     
    Candidate will perform system support activities surrounding IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Message Queue Management (MQM) applications.  Candidate will work with various cross-functional teams made up of both government and contract employees including software developers, database administrators and hardware engineers.

    Candidate will also support system administration duties to include installing, configuring, administering and trouble shooting USPS PostalOne! Software; configuration management activities such as administering/managing the project CM repository and source control system. 

    Candidate will maintain, implement and adhere to all CM policies and procedures, as well as instruct and/or train project staff on their use. Candidate will help maintain change control records and provide reports/reviews/audits of CM activities.

     

    Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelors degree and 7 years overall IT experience; 2-4 years specific WebSphere experience

    Qualifications: Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Message Queue Management (MQM) is required. Candidate must also have strong communication skills; both written and oral.

    Desired Qualifications: Skills and/or experience with the following considered a plus:

     PVCS Tracker and Version Manager (VM)

    • OAS, UNIX
    • J2EE - application architectures, frameworks, design patterns, interfaces, servers and web services
    • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Application Architecture & Design, as well as, Client-Server Architecture
    • Knowledge of Network Architecture, protocols and security
    • Some experience in system resizing, scalability and performance tuning
    • Technical Certifications

Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer or related sciences.   

 

Candidate must be US CITIZENS OR GREEN CARD HOLDERS.
