Description

Tool Designer

 

  • Use your CATIA v5 expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the wing Tool Engineering (TE) group. 
  • Interface with tool engineering vendors to ensure they have the latest software revisions and documentation. 
  • Keep the Tool Engineering group and the vendors abreast of CATIA v5 process and software changes.
  • Research tool design requirements and develop concepts. 
  • Create Tool Layout Models (TLMs) for tool engineering designs, and oversee the creation of TLMs. 
  • Represent the wing Tool Engineering group on the CATIA v4 to v5 transition team

Requirements

  • Investigates, develops and verifies accuracy of tooling concepts and tooling definitions.
  • Researches tool designs to create and revise tool usage instructions.
  • Prepares tool design or fabrication off load packages.
  • Provides engineering design disposition on tool discrepancies to identify solutions.
  • Develops, documents and maintains complex tool inspection and maintenance requirements.
  • Participates in multi-functional product design reviews to support manufacturing/tooling plan.
  • Works under general direction.

 

Education / Experience:

 

  • AA degree in related discipline and 3 to 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
