Copy Manager / Writer

Description

The Copy Manager / Writer creates the development of global creative solutions, in alignment with marketing, sales, corporate, and business objectives to build brand awareness across multiple regions and the United States.  Partners closely with subteam of Designer(s) and Marketing Manager(s) on a project-by-project basis to deliver solutions for Creative Director and Brand Director approval. Works closely with teams of multi-disciplinary staff including Designers, Writers, Production, Project management, Marketing, Events, Video, Promotions. Ensures creative execution is codified by supporting brand style guide team. Brings understanding of writing, concepting, advertising, branding industry trends, and marketplace issues.  Writes, and directs: executing projects, campaigns and programs across promotions, packaging, events, videos, print collateral, .ppt, and other media. Manages small writing staff, and external vendors. Manages and writes output for projects they are specifically responsible for.

 

·         Provides concept, content and editorial/writing solutions and communication planning insights to Marketing Communication Manager, Marketing Manager(s), senior and executive management, creative team, and other staff to ensure highly effective creative communications strategies are developed and executed.

·         Participates in the development of brand strategies communication plans.

·         Provides leadership, strategic and tactical direction to small subteam to ensure creative solutions are in alignment with corporate objectives, marketing objectives, and brand strategies.

·         Ensures the consistent integration of marketing messages throughout all communication deliverables. 

·         Delivers creative assets to brand style guide team and supports their efforts in developing style guides across multiple programs and initiatives.

·         Establishes and creates copy or creative direction of a campaign/program and ensures that its integrity is retained throughout all elements of the life cycle of the campaign, event, or program.

·         Ensures delivery of cohesive design of all creative deliverables within their subteam.

·         Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of creative solutions, and the consistent execution of concept and copy across programs.

·         Resolves conceptual and creative editorial issues.

·         Ensures the appropriate direction is given for the development of elements to reflect creative direction and strategy.

 

Project Management

·         Participates in development and management of budgets and timelines for creative development.

·          Ensures appropriate resources are available to meet creative development and execution needs.

·         Reconciles project plans and functional agreements with creative output.

·         Ensures all deliverables meet objectives and are completed on time, and within budget.

Requirements

   Bachelor’s degree communications, English, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the communications and/or advertising field.

   Typically a minimum 10+ years of hands-on writing, creative direction, communications or related experience in a corporate environment, ad agency, or design firm. Must have experience working and collaborating with designers and art directors. Including 3-5 years of management experience. Must have experience writing promotional and conceptual solutions for advertising, videos, collateral, branding programs. Strong plus: Design firm experience, Internet experience, Video experience, branding experience.

Spanish speaking a strong plus.

 

Knowledge/Experience:

·         Experience concepting, writing, and developing solutions for collateral, promotions and advertising, videos, large sales events, logos,  .ppt, internet, and brand style guides.

·         Experience retaining and directing production houses, writers, and internal staff.

·         Experience defining and developing creative strategies based on marketing and business objectives.

·         Experience providing creative and/or editorial direction to external creative resources such as advertising agencies, video companies, design firms and multi-disciplinary contractors and consultants.

·         Experience working closely with designer(s) to deliver team-based solutions.

·         Experience leading creative teams consisting of multi-disciplinary specialists.
