Sr. Computer Engineer

As a member of our team, you will support defense technologies along with research and development in Dayton, OH, having opportunities to work in a dynamic environment, with state of the art simulation technologies, unique data processing software suites, and experienced military Subject Matter Experts (SME). Our work focuses on conducting capability assessments for emerging military technologies and ensuring related tools and methodologies are suitable to inform Department of Defense (DoD) decision makers.

Essential Job Functions:

Analysis and debugging skills of developmental software.

Integrate and validate new product designs.

Assess third party and open source software.

Develop, code, test and troubleshoot the system software.

Develop test plans, procedures, and organize resources to facilitate testing of advanced technologies.

Document test activities, including writing test reports, analyzing test data, and making recommendations to the engineering team.

Develop automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, and managing Kubernetes deployments.

Optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues related to container orchestration, networking, and resource management.

Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless integration of Kubernetes-based systems into the CI/CD pipeline.

Work both individually and with a broader engineering team.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least a BS degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, and at least 8 years of related experience.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.

Proficiency developing object-oriented software in C/C++ with Visual Studio integrated development environment.

Candidates should have experience with Modern Software Development practices and tools such at: AGILE, Kanban, Git, Artifactory, Cucumber, Jira, Jenkins, etc.

Candidates should have experience with Linux OS, such as: RedHat (RHEL), CentOS, etc.

Candidates should have experience with container frameworks and orchestration, such as: Kubernetes, K8s, Docker, Singularity, OCI, etc.

Knowledge of modeling, simulation, and analysis environments (live, virtual, and/or constructive).

Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.

Ability to work well in team environments.

Ability to travel, as required.

Desired Skills:

Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

Certification in Kubernetes (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA).

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.

Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and related technologies (e.g., Kubernetes Service Mesh).

Minimum of three years developing and deploying into a micro-service.
