Basic Function

Measure and ensure inventory accuracy of all site inventory, including maintenance spare parts, production raw materials, packaging supplies, etc. Provide raw material purchasing support in accordance with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Operational Excellence procedures. This includes performing the activities necessary to determine requirements, release orders, monitor raw material inventory, and expedite various raw materials in order to provide an uninterrupted supply of raw materials while keeping inventory levels to an optimum. Assist in maintaining maintenance store room and ensuring availability of spare parts as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
- Complete all inventory cycle counts as determined by site schedules for:
• Maintenance spare parts
• Production raw materials
• Production packaging supplies
• Production safety and tool supplies
- Complete raw material consumptions and process order reconciliation for Production
- Assist with Maintenance parts kitting and staging of parts for planned jobs
- Perform back-up functions as described below for:
• MRP Coordinator - Raw Materials
• Maintenance Planning Assistant

- MRP Coordinator - Raw Materials (Back-up)
• Maintain supply of assigned raw materials, which includes;
• Review MRP Summary Report for MRP planned items
• Issue purchase orders/releases and expedite if necessary
• Direct communication with suppliers
• Investigate, document, and respond to any raw material shortages
• Arrange the return to supplier for rejected material and/or refused shipments

• Coordinate the purchasing, packaging, and transfer of raw materials to other LYB manufacturing locations.
• Interdepartmental Support;
• Coordination with Scheduling

- Maintenance Planning Assistant (Back- up)
• Maintain supply of maintenance spare parts
• Order parts as needed through SAP planned orders function
• Assist maintenance in locating correct parts and correct vendors for emergency jobs
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping in store room area as needed

• Other duties as assigned
• Reliability is essential for handling job responsibilities and providing quality customer service; therefore, good attendance and productivity are essential job requirements for this position.

Min. Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1-5 years experience in Purchasing, or Inventory Control, or Production Planning in an MRP environment. 1-5 years experience in inventory control position with knowledge of cycle counting and investigating discrepancies/variances.

Good desktop computer skills: word processing (MS-Word) and spreadsheets (MS-Excel)
SAP experience preferred
