As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Germantown, MD.

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with the ability to work independently on assignments while also collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. This role requires expertise in managing both routine and complex design tasks, with a focus on stormwater management, sediment erosion control, storm drain design, and related engineering components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage and execute design tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Develop engineering documents for various project components, including stormwater management design (ESD and structural solutions), sediment erosion control, storm drain design and computations, WSSC water and sewer design, grade establishment plans, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of design engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, including VIKA’s Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, and Planning Staff, as well as external consultants, to facilitate project coordination and communication.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site development and infrastructure design.
• Working towards obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
