DCS Corp is seeking a dynamic, team oriented, energetic, and customer focused Mechanical Engineer to support our U.S. Army customer at our Sterling Heights office. You will be working with a group of Engineers and Technicians providing mechanical solutions to the Ground Vehicle System Center's Robotics, Testing, Survivability, and Simulation groups.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide mechanical engineering support to our GVSC customers.
Design and issue fabrication requests for a variety of mechanical prototype solutions on both vehicle integration efforts and crew station builds.
Create and issue work orders, purchase requisitions, and drawing/assembly documentation.
Work collaboratively with other engineers and technicians at the assembly and integration phases of projects.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering an Two years of experience in CAD design.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Desired Skills:
Experience with developing Part and Assembly level designs in Solidworks and creating the respective data packages for manufacturing.
Firm understanding of machining operations and their capabilities/limitations.
Exposure to robotics.
Desire to get hands on and experienced with overhead cranes, forklifts, and machine shop equipment.
