Senior Staff, Software Engineer (C++, System Designs, Linux, Routing & Switching) Location: Sunnyvale, CASenior Software Engineer responsible for building critical infrastructure/operating-system software providing scalability, agility and programmability for current and future generations of routing/switching products.Basic QualificationsMinimum 12+ years of experience as Software EngineerComputer Science fundamentals and Software Engineering best practicesDeep hands-on experience in designing, building, delivering, and maintaining critical production-grade softwareExperience in resource constrained computing (embedded systems)Understanding of performance characteristics, balancing tradeoffs between memory, CPU, and I/OAbility to work with large complex codebasesProficient in C and C++, Python is desirableProficient in Linux programming and an understanding of OS internals, multi-threading and memory management subsystemStrong working knowledge of distributed systemsHands on development experience on routing/switching platformsResponsibilitiesPlay a critical role in driving our technology vision forward and ensuring that we execute across multiple initiatives.
In this role, you will work closely with other engineers across cross-functional teams and product management teams to design, build, and ship high quality software.
 Architect and implement robust and scalable high availability services.
Conduct low level performance analysis and optimization of the software stack#LI-AHUYNH#LI-PRIORITYMinimum Salary: $179,200.00Maximum Salary:$257,600.00The pay range for this position is expected to be between $179,200.00 and $257,600.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave.
