ALTA is supporting a direct hire opportunity. This position is 100% Onsite for an initial 3-6 months, then remote 1-2 days/week, and onsite 3-4 days/week after that. The location is in the National Harbor area, south of Washington, DC.

When we succeed, you succeed, and together, our best becomes better. HOW A PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT FOR LINUX WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Act as a lead architect within a team of technical leads to create advanced Linux architectures and designs so they integrate seamlessly with the current Linux and Windows environment. • Enterprise Authorization: Integrate Linux Systems (currently, RHEL 7/8 and Ubuntu systems) into a primary Windows environment (workstations & servers) where Active Directory controls authentication, authorization, and accounting actives with PKI certificates and Single Sign On. • Enterprise Provisioning: Configuring new Linux systems for customer use and ensuring that initial configurations meet required enterprise baselines & controls (e.g., proper agents installed, proper configs, etc.) • Integrate Linux systems with other enterprise tooling (e.g., ACAS, Splunk, SolarWinds, Backup systems, etc.) REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Education: BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technology. Experience may be substituted for education. • Required Experience: Minimum 14 years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity. • Required Technical Experience: Thorough experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu or a derivative. The candidate must acquire DoD Instruction 8570 Level II Certification within 6 months of assignment. • Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility and a T5 or T5R within the last 5 years • Required Skills and Abilities: Highly motivated, self-starter; ability to work alone (90% of work is individual); heavy research and development when necessary. • Location: Washington, District of Columbia; limited telework may be available
