RNP/RNAV Flight Test Engineer
Engineering support to Mission Systems Navigation test and evaluation activities including support for flight and lab test planning, coordination, execution, analysis, and reporting activities.
Assess system development and integration for impact on test planning and test objectives.
Prepare flight cards.
Attend flight briefs/debriefs.
Identify and document deficiencies.
Support flight test plan and test report preparation.
Required Experience
Experience with aircraft navigation systems performance design and/or evaluation - particularly RNP/RNAV.
- Experience with navigation system certification, including FAA compliance verification.
Desired Experience
Experience with U.S. Navy navigation system cert/re-cert processes.
Working knowledge of the theory and methods of aircraft testing including Capabilities Based and Mission Based Test Design methodology.
Broad scientific technical knowledge of the theory and methods of weapon system acquisition and support requirements including complex problem solving and reduction and analysis of test data.
Solid understanding of principles and practices of systems engineering including general knowledge of electronics and human/machine interface engineering.
Strong writing and oral presentation skills are highly desired.
In depth knowledge of T&E engineering principles and processes to modify or extend current theories or test practices and/or procedures is also desired.
Position Requirements
- Degree: BSEE preferred. Specific relevant experience may be considered in lieu of meeting the degree requirement.
- Years of Experience: Senior position. 5+ years of experience required.
Salary Range: 80K-150K and will commensurate with experience.
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time
Level of Clearance Required: Secret Eligible
Amount of Travel: Occasional
