Position Summary: The Robotics Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing software solutions for robotic systems, focusing on functionality, reliability, and performance. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, to design and optimize robotic solutions for real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and test software for robotic systems, including motion planning, navigation, and control algorithms.
  2. Implement and optimize software for embedded systems, sensors, and actuators.
  3. Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate software with mechanical and electrical components.
  4. Develop simulation environments to test and validate algorithms and system behavior.
  5. Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  6. Debug and troubleshoot software issues in prototypes and deployed systems.
  7. Participate in system architecture design and contribute to defining software requirements.
  8. Develop and refine algorithms for mobile robots, including mapping, obstacle avoidance, and voice command integration.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in robotics and software engineering, and incorporate best practices into development processes.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in robotics software development.
  3. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  4. Experience with ROS/ROS2 (Robot Operating System) standard packages and deployment.
  5. Strong understanding of robotics concepts, including kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping).
  6. Experience with sensor integration, such as cameras, LIDAR, and IMUs.
  7. Expertise in developing solutions for mobile robots, including mapping, obstacle avoidance, and voice command functionalities.
  8. Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Webots, or V-REP).
  9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  1. Experience with AI and machine learning in robotics applications.
  2. Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems programming.
  3. Background in computer vision or deep learning frameworks.
  4. Experience with cloud-based robotics platforms and IoT integration.
  5. Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
