Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the trial process planning and ramp-up coordination of production related changes resulting from product design (i.e. model years, running changes, MOPF) , volume, and CI measures.
Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Production planning and control. Reviews new product design impacts though Change Management System to evaluate process impact and provide feedback on process time analysis and investment requirements. Documents required product and process changes with implementation timing to ECC/Production Control for all changes with production start numbers and updated work instructions.
Develop competitive, structural and cost analyses with focus on economic aspects, introduce opportunities for cost-efficient assembling in all planning process and create a mapping of plans.
In cooperation with RD, central planning and manufacturing process areas, work towards production compatible development of components and manufacturing process, with focus on economic and ergonomic aspects. Ensure coordination of RD, new type planning and manufacturing process. Participates in product review for our model changes located at the Mercedes Benz Technology Center in Germany (overseas travel required).
Ensure planning and preparation of assembly process with coordinated logistics functions and supply processes (from receiving to assembly area) with focus on standardized assembly and logistics concepts (New Lean Concept) for new model and series. Ensure the implementation of those for ongoing series.
Statistical Quality Control. Use statistical analysis tools and methods to determine process capacity and capability. Reviewing and implementing all the VA/AA and Q-Release quality requirements measures set in controlled documentation guidelines in new product and series.
Develop work procedures and instructions for production processes (Standard Work Instructions) using a standard Daimler System. This system is used to track KPI targets using the Man, Method and Material concept. Creates time analysis using a Daimler standard motion time system (MTM).
Develop and implement plans to continuously increase productivity consistently while decreasing production costs. Reviews Line targets in your area of responsible and prepares plans and workshops to improve and support target KPIs set by the plant leader. Identify wastes in production processes and implement improvements using MPS and Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
Prepares and Manage materials, equipment and information resources to plan processes to produce and deliver goods. Provides required reports and scorecards for management updates. Participates in daily/weekly Process Quality reviews with production through Process Coordination Meetings with Production and Process Engineering.
