AV Site Support /Video Conference Technician
Contract: 5 months to possible permanent
Pay: $28-32 an hr.
Location: Tampa, FL
Summary: Opportunity to work for the largest provider of collaboration technology solutions. We are looking for someone with at least 4+ years of AV Technician, client facing and Video Conference troubleshooting experience. We are not looking for Live Concert Audio Video experience. Primary focus of this role will be on Cisco endpoint integration, installation, configuration and commissioning in conference rooms and setups at client site(s).The AV Site Support/ VC Tech will be for onsite assistance and collaborating with our client's management team and other departments to deliver an array of customer services surrounding the utilization, operation, and implementation of AudioVisual/Video Conferencing systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with client staff to determine IT/AV infrastructure requirements for new Cisco endpoints
  • Perform routine testing and problem diagnosis VC systems and setups
  • Coordinate technical, architectural, and construction requirements with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Onsite Management
  • Prepare and stage systems for Quality Control testing as applicable
  • Perform preventative maintenance to resolve problem or identify resolution to appropriate vendor or manufacturer
  • Troubleshoot AV/VC problems last minute as required as well as non-critical situations
  • Assist with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system (AMX, Crestron) operations
  • Interact with client Customer Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end user requests
  • Setup and breakdown of all onsite meetings
  • Daily system testing to ensure equipment and room functionality
  • Responsible for escalating all 'next level' break fix issues to their manager for resolution
  • Perform remote testing for local and regional offices
  • Ensure all AVS spaces are presentable for use


Skills and Abilities

  • ? Intermediate to advanced understanding of AV technologies including setup, configuration and operation of complex video conferencing systems and backend IT/networking infrastructure
  • Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to test equipment and perform expert level troubleshooting
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company driving standards


Must Have Experience for AV Site / Video Conference Support Technician:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of IT/Networking theory, topology, and best practices
  • Videoconferencing experience including configuration, operation, call set-up and equipment management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AV practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated AV Control experience including Crestron, Extron, and/or AMX


Preferred Qualifications for the AV Site / Video Conference Support Technician:

  • Cisco CCT, CCENT, CCNA, certifications preferred
  • ITIL certifications preferred
  • AVIXA/InfoComm CTS preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of web conferencing tools such as WebEx and Cisco meeting place a plus
