Application System Analyst - Digital Signage

Job Description

ECS is seeking an Application System Analyst - Digital Signage to work in our Patuxent River, MD office.





Job Description:


The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure of the National Help Desk telephony system. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the support applications. This individual ensures that system hardware, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational and Department of Defense Cyber Security requirements. He/She will also be responsible for leading the Digital Signage team and ensuring total continuity of services.





This individual assists with technical issues with any of the Help Desk tools/systems. Experience with windows servers, including patching, security settings and troubleshooting is required. Frequent investigation of log and configuration files to diagnose and resolve system issues is required. General knowledge of networking protocols, devices and architecture, as well as understanding of DoD security posture, adhering to STIG guidelines, and ability to remediate vulnerabilities is a plus.





Duties may include:


- Ensure projects plans are followed and deadlines are met.


- Tasking and supervising lower level employees.


- Respond to service calls and keep system operational, maintain the service and monitor hardware as needed.


- Installation of new or upgrades to existing systems and configuration of software, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and operational requirements.


- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.


- Contribute to and maintain system standards.


- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide cost avoidance.


- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.


- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.


- Repair and recover from software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders.-


- Apply application patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.


- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.


- Ability to clearly communicate with diverse groups of people; ability to communicate with upper management, higher level technicians, vendors, customers, peers, etc.


- Willing and able to lift 25-40 pounds of digital signage equipment.





NOTE: Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.





Required Skills:


* Bachelor degree or 6 years of equivalent experience


* Four years of prior experience in a similar system administration role


* Knowledge and experience in Digital Signage or communication systems perferred


* Experience with MS Windows, Windows Server, CISCO


* Knowledge of system integration, system interfaces, SQL and IIS


* Experience in technical system troubleshooting and problem solving


* Demonstrate experience in total lifecycle management of IT systems and services to include: strategy, design, testing, fielding, operations, and disposal.


* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)


* The ability to work independently or as a team


* Proficient in MS Office (specifically visio, excel and project)


* Strong organization skills and multitasking abilities


* This tasking shall require personnel to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance (Interim Secret is acceptable to start).


* Tasking requires employee to obtain a Security+ Certification within 3 months of hire but no longer than 6 months





Desired Skills:


* Security+ Certification


* 8570 compliance


* Graphic design experience


* Active Security Clearance
