Generates accurate shop drawings to be used for customer and architect approval as well as fabrication and installation. Drawings will consist of rough-in, plan view, elevation, special unit details and equipment details required on the project. Individual must be able to work alone or with several people on a single project. Must be able to interpret the requirements of Customer, Architect, and/or Contractor and use the company's products to meet the criteria of the specifications and other contract documents. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Architectural Revit to create BIM models for our Laboratory Furniture for Architectural approval and clash detection with other trades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Produce accurate and complete drawings using AutoCAD and Architectural Revit.
- Accurately interpret Architectural drawings and specifications.
- Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Knowledge of Product Assembly and Method of Installation.
- Knowledge of Standard casework construction (Wood and Metal).
- Ability to work under various time frames and pressures.
- Ability to work on several ongoing projects at the same time.
- Keep job on track and advise the Drafting Supervisor and Project Manager of any problems that may occur.
- Check and organize all drawings on the job before sending to customer or engineering.
- Provide notes, questions, and information to project managers as required.
- Create BIM models

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in Architectural Drafting or equivalent required. Must have three (3) years' experience utilizing AutoCAD and Architectural Revit software producing 3D modeling drawings with high efficiency. Ability to successfully demonstrate 3D modeling skills. Knowledge of lab casework or furniture preferred. Proficient skills and knowledge of MS Office products. (This job has no supervisory responsibilities.)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as architectural specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Must be a self-starter and be able to determine the requirements of a project. Must show initiative in making decisions on everyday questions. Must be able to present, in writing, discrepancies, and questions to project managers and/or customers for clarification of project requirements. Individuals must have a working knowledge of the manufacturing process.
