Automation Developer

We are seeking an Automation Developer to join our client's team in Ashburn, VA!

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Designing, building, and developing automation scripts
  • Working side-by-side with Manual Testers and Software Developers to ensure test case/script coverage is complete
  • Executing test scripts and collecting results for reporting purposes
  • Writing-up defects with applicable supporting evidence of defect
  • Actively participating in team discussions
  • Testing web applications and mobile device applications thoroughly
  • Participating in design workshops
  • Testing custom and enhanced applications
  • Researching and resolving issues
  • Interfacing and consulting with product owners
  • Possessing and applying a basic understanding of client's business(es)
  • Operating within an Innovation Development Team through Agile/SCRUM methodology working with Product, Program, Operations, and Technology managers to bring solutions to the market that address needs determined through feedback collected from the market

Here's what our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field; OR equivalent, relevant work experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in Automation Development or at least 2 years of programming experience
  • Programming skills, Java or proficient with at least one scripting language
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug software
  • Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills

Preferred Experience/Knowledge (not required):

  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and good practices
  • Previous experience with test automation tools such as but not limited to Selenium, Calabash, SOAPUI
  • Familiarity with Linux OS and Linux commands
  • Agile (e.g. SCRUM) software development certifications and/or equivalent experience
