Business Analyst - HL&

Job Description

BCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst. for Indianapolis

Purpose of Position:

The Senior Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to departmental and federal partners. The focus of this position is to work closely with the department program areas and Meaningful Use business partners to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the program area operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities and methods to meet project requirements

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end, gathering project requirements, design components and to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks. Additionally, the candidate will identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our solutions. Job responsibilities will include a full range of activities from working with hospitals, labs, providers and the Indiana Office of Technology to assisting the project manager and analyzing operational business functions that impact project deliverables.

Job Description:

Ø Ideally 5 years prior BA experience required

Ø Prior healthcare industry and/or health informatics experience required.

Ø Must hold Bachelor's degree. Candidates without completed bachelor degrees clearly reflected on resume will be rejected.

Ø Prior EMR, EHR, and/or HL7 experience highly preferred.Proven organization, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ø Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and health informatics to develop requirements

Ø Management experience is desired, though this role will be primarily collaborative as an individual contributor.

Ø Proven record of success in a software development life cycle environment.

Ø Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and research, analysis, and writing skills.

Ø Ability to foster a collaborative and transparent working environment, forging meaningful and positive working relationships that drive a strong peer culture.

Ø Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative with minimal direction to creatively solve problems within the confines of company policy and departmental requirements; always seeking direction when conflicts persist.

Ø Strong desire to be a key player in the overall software development and application delivery strategy.

Ø Demonstrated experience in interacting and negotiating with business stakeholders at all levels.

Ø 5- 10 years of experience with EMR, EHR, CMS or Public Health projects is a plus

Ø 5 -10 years of experience with industry standard codes and file formats like HL7 v2/v3, ADT, CDA, CCD, LOINC, SNOMED, ICD 9/10, etc. is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Create process change through the integration of new processes with existing ones and communication of changes to impacted Business Systems teams.

Ø Formulate and define system scopes and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of user needs, business systems, and industry requirements.

Ø Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and health informatics to develop requirements

Ø Facilitate the delivery of technical business solutions to customers.

Ø Manage the expectations of customers, peers, vendors and management.

Ø Establish contracts for the procurement of technical business solutions and products.

Ø Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, devise new technical business system solutions, and translate into proper system requirement specifications.

Ø Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with assigned customers in order to help them meet their business and technical needs.

Ø May participate in strategic planning processes for Information Technology Division, seeking opportunities to apply current and future service offerings to meet the needs of current and potential customers.

Ø May guide the development team and act as a liaison between client and technical solutions/ support groups, using advanced communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate client requirements.

Ø Experience with applications dealing with EHR Meaningful use is helpful
